“Mind For Design” is a brand new The TV show starring Brian Patrick Flynn. It has previewed its first episode for The Magnolia Network on the streaming platform Discovery Plus. Unlike many other interior designers that you have seen on TV, Brian doesn’t have one consistent style that he repeats in everyone’s homes. Instead, he listens to what the client wants, and pays attention to their personality. For those of us who are used to watching design shows were all houses end up looking the same, this is honestly a breath of fresh air.
Unlike many other interior designers, Brian does not have a professional education in interior design. “I didn’t go to design school. I’m completely self-taught. I went to film school,” Flynn says. Aside from being a designer, Brian is the owner of Flynnside Out Productions. This is a multimedia company that produces, films, and edits content for a variety of TV programs for major companies like HGTV and Home Depot. The fact that he hasn’t been taught by any design school is probably why he has such a colorful and unique aesthetic. Instead of doing what he was taught is the “right” way of doing things, he goes with his intuition. Because of that, the result is magical.
