At this point, cucumbers under your eyes is a total cliche that shows up in tons of movies. But sometimes, cliches are completely true. Cucumbers actually do help to moisturize and soften your skin to help with anti-aging. The skin around your eyes is very sensitive, and will benefit from cucumber.
If you don’t want to waste food by using whole slices, one great way to use cucumbers is to peel one, and leave the green peels off to the side. 25. Drinking Water is the Best Beauty Hack Ever- And It’s Free
The most obvious beauty hack you can do immediately is to drink more water. Your skin needs water in order to look plump and young. If your body is feeling dry, so will your skin, and more creases and wrinkles are likely to appear. If you drink alcohol, it is also likely that you are dehydrated, and you may not realize it. After drinking, I can immediately see a change in my face the next day. Remember to drink at least 8 glasses of water per day. Once you start incorporating more water into your routine, you will be amazed at how much healthier you feel.
Last and certainly not least, drinking more water usually helps you lose weight. It will reduce bloating, fill you up, and help flush you out. A lot of the time, when you think you’re hungry, you’re actually thirsty. As a rule of thumb, you are supposed to drink half of your body weight in ounces of water every day. For example, if you weigh 150 pounds, that means you should drink 75 ounces of water per day.

24. Avoid Over-Washing Your Hair
A lot of people wash their hair every single day. And in the summer time, we can’t help but want to take two showers a day, too. However, by over-washing, it will dry out your scalp, and make your hair look dry and brittle. This also trains your scalp to produce more oil, if it expects to lose its oil every day. Most recommend washing your hair every-other-day. Consider investing in a shower cap so that you can give your body a good cleanse, but keep your hair dry in-between wash days.

23. Getting 8 Hours of Sleep
There is a phrase “beauty sleep” for a reason. The human body heals when you are asleep, and so does your skin. You have probably noticed that after a night with little-to-no sleep, there will be dark circles under your eyes. Most of the time, we brush this off as a temporary problem that we can make up for the next day. But if you are consistently losing sleep on a regular basis, that will make you look a lot older and exhausted. Try to make sleep a priority, and your body will thank you.

22. DIY Facial Massage
Plenty of people aspire to go to a salon to get an expensive facial massage. Yes, you do need to know what you are doing in order to drain your lymph nodes and properly get the results you are looking for. But the beauty of the Internet is that everyone is available for you online. You can give yourself a facial massage every single day if you wanted to. Just grab some of that vitamin E oil and watch Olga Toja’s YouTube videos on DIY facial massage. She has several different videos on various types of face massage, so be sure to check out her main channel page, too.

21. Avoid Smoking and Alcohol
One of the best natural beauty hacks you could ever do is to simply stop smoking and drinking. Drinking alcohol causes your face to bloat, and it also dehydrates your body. Nearly everyone looks less attractive the morning after drinking. Same goes with smoking, which is arguably much worse for your skin and aging process. We know it’s hard to quit either of these things, but even reducing the amount you smoke or drink can significantly improve your appearance.

20. Laugh More
As corny as it sounds, laughing will make you more attractive. By laughing more, you will feel happy, and happy people are sexy. Have you ever noticed someone who looks like the world is on their shoulders? They are not always the most approachable or attractive person. Who cares if your eyes will form laugh lines? It’s totally worth it.

19. Wear Sunscreen
A lot of people love to get a beautiful tan in the summertime, but it’s not very good for your skin. Getting a sun burn can cause sun damage to your skin, and it may ultimately lead to cancer. You may have also noticed “sun worshipers” who eventually have thick, wrinkly skin. It’s not exactly an attractive look. If you love getting a tan in the summer, consider getting a spray tan instead.

18. Bentonite Clay
Bentonite powder truly is life-changing. I personally use Indian Healing Clay, and it has helped to heal rashes, dandruff, and generally helped to tone and clear my skin. This is also great as a deodorant. It detoxifies your armpits to take away any of the harmful ingredients you may have in your daily deodorant, like aluminum.

17. Jojoba Oil
There are several different kinds of oil that can help your skin and hair. We already mentioned Vitamin E, but this year’s trend has been all about Jojoba Oil. If your hair is feeling dry, you can take just a couple drops and it will help to moisturize and give shine to your locks.

16. Activated Charcoal
You have probably seen tons of beauty brands coming out with activated charcoal products to fix everything from clearing your face to whitening your teeth. It is far cheaper to just buy a bag of loose activated charcoal and create DIY products in your own home.

15. Sugar Lip and Body Scrub
It is important to exfoliate your body, because it takes away your dry, dead skin. It also helps to prevent ingrown hairs. It’s easy to make your own scrub. Just mix brown sugar with coconut oil for a gentle lip scrub. If you want to make a bit more abrasive or add some flavor, you can grate some orange peel into the mix as well.

14. Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is the cure-all for some any DIY beauty hacks. You can use it for home made toothpaste, conditioner, face masks, lotion, and so much more. It can also use it a lot in cooking. If you buy a container of coconut oil, it will NOT go to waste. There are so many different uses for it, you may end up buying it once a week.

13. Coffee Ground Exfoliator
When you make coffee in the morning, you probably throw away your coffee grinds, but they could actually be re-used! Coffee has caffeine, and some say that it can reinvigorate your skin. Some recommend using it as an exfoliant scrub on your legs to help reduce the appearance of cellulite.

12. Sweat Out Your Body’s Toxins
As gross as it sounds, sweating will bring the toxins out of your skin and body. This has been one of the most predominantly used beauty hacks throughout history, dating back to the Roman times. If you have access to a sauna at your local gym, you should seriously consider using it on a regular basis. Just remember to shower, and abide by the rules of your facility to make sure everything is clean. Also remember not to stay in too long, because you could become dizzy.

11. Baking Soda Teeth Whitening
People spend a fortune buying whitening strips, toothpaste, and mouth wash. You can easily whiten them with good old baking soda. In fact, many of these products will advertise that they contain baking soda as one of the main ingredients. So why not go straight to the source? Sprinkle some of the baking soda onto your hand, and then wet your tooth brush. Dab the wet brush into the pile of baking soda on your hand, and then brush your teeth.

10. Tea Tree Oil Works In Several Beauty Hacks
Tea tree oil has natural healing properties, and it has been known to cure many different skin conditions. For years, I struggled with eczema and dandruff on my scalp and the back of my neck. After trying so many different products, tea tree oil was the only thing that actually worked. I personally use a tea tree oil shampoo, conditioner, and a scalp treatment. I also use a topical cream called Wonder Balm, which also contains tea tree oil. This made a huge difference in my skin issues, and I finally feel like I have a “normal” scalp!

9. Vitamin C
When it comes to natural beauty hacks, vitamin c is one of the most important “secrets” to glowing skin. Many of you out there have probably heard of vitamin c serum, which is being sold by practically every company out there. I am personally a huge fan of vitamin c serum, and I highly recommend it. But like most aspects of natural beauty, it usually comes from the inside. Make sure to eat more vitamin c, or start taking a supplement. This also helps to improve your immune system, which everyone needs help with now more than ever!

8. Eat Fruits and Vegetables
To many of you out there, you’ll think- “Duh! How is eating fruits and veggies one of these beauty hacks??” But so many people forget to eat enough on a daily basis. Your body needs nutrients in order to heal itself, and that includes keeping your skin cells young. At the very least, make sure you are taking a daily vitamin to supplement any nutrition you may not be getting from your diet.

7. Try Out Intermittent Fasting
One of the biggest beauty hacks that not enough people are talking about is intermittent fasting. This helps to heal your skin, reverse disease, and it makes you look and feel younger. As an added bonus, you also lose fat and gain muscle. Not sure what it is? Intermittent fasting or time restricted eating is the process of timing when you eat. According to a Harvard study, intermittent fasting is equally as effective for weight loss as calorie counting.
A popular method is the 16:8. This is 16 hours of fasting, or not eating, mostly while you sleep. You are allowed to eat during the other 8 hours of the day. For example, if you stop eating dinner at 6PM, you can’t eat again until 10AM the next morning. I have personally been following the 16:8 method for the past month, and I have already lost 10 pounds and 3 inches from my waist. My skin is glowing, and my body feels 5 years younger. This has become a lifestyle, rather than a diet. Over time, I hope that it helps me look 10 years younger.

6. Meditate Daily to Decrease Your Stress
Stress and anger is unattractive to people. And whether you realize it or not, these negative emotions often manifest on your face. I’m sure you’ve experienced looking int he mirror after having a huge fight, and you can barely recognize yourself. Over time, the stress can wear down on your body. Stress is usually the culprit for premature hair loss or greying. It has also been linked to causing heart disease. So if you want to keep your youth for a long time, consider meditating at home. Here at Inspiring Home, we already have a list of meditations you can find on YouTube for free.

5. Wear Less Makeup
Some of you out there might be thinking- “Hold on a second. I thought this was about beauty hacks! How can you tell me to wear less makeup? “Well, the thing about makeup is that it can often clog your pores, and sometimes diminish the quality of your natural skin. And if you already have dry skin, the makeup clings and accentuates the dryness, rather than covering it up. It can also make you look unnatural. If you’re often trying out new makeup product, you might also accidentally run into allergy problems. I recommend wearing natural brands, like Physician’s Formula, or finding a brand that works for you, and stick to it.
If you’re working from home, try to take advantage of this time by giving your skin a break. That isn’t to say that you should never wear makeup. But if you work on improving your skin instead of covering it up constantly, it makes a huge difference. When you’re ready to put your makeup on to go face the world, you’ll find that you look more beautiful than ever before.

4. Manifest Your Dream Body
Some of you out there might be skeptical about manifestation, because it sounds like magic. It’s understandable why you might be skeptical. However, practicing manifestation is not as weird as it sounds. The Psychology department at Stanford University has proven that if you rehearse something in your imagination ahead of time, you are more likely to succeed at doing it in reality. The subconscious believes that it has already done this once before, so it becomes easy to do it “again”, even though the reality is that it’s only the first time. This is manifestation. (For the record, this works the opposite way, too. If you imagine everything that could go wrong, it probably will.)
So, why does this belong on a list about beauty hacks? If you’re in the process of losing weight or going to the gym, you can rehearse this in your mind through manifestation. Close your eyes and imagine what your perfect body would look like. Pretend that it’s happening right now, and feel that emotion of pride and success. Mentally rehearse the process of eating healthy, exercising, and taking care of yourself. Believe me, it works. During my weight loss journey, I imagined my waist getting smaller while I maintained my curves. So far, that’s exactly what has happened as I lose weight. It’s like giving your body a set of instructions to follow, so it knows exactly what to do.

3. Use a Jade Roller or a Gua Sha Tool
Some of you out there may have seen a jade roller for sale at your local beauty supply shop. If you put them in the freezer, they will get very cold. This helps to de-puff your eyes, and it can soothe other areas if your body by simply rolling over it. Some people also believe in the healing power of crystals, and will choose other stones like rose quartz, which is supposed to bring love into your life.
There is also something called “gua sha”, which is a stone usually made of jade or rose quartz. This is angled in such a way that it helps you drain any excess liquid that might be sitting in your face to make you appear bloated. If you buy one of these tools, make sure you follow a gua sha tutorial on YouTube before attempting to do it on your own face.

2. Dry Brushing
There are so many benefits to doing something as simple as brushing your skin with a horse hair brush, also known as “dry brushing”. According to medical experts from the Cleveland Clinic, dry brushing your skin helps to exfoliate, but it also helps to get the blood flowing. This unclogs pores, and can reduce the chances that you’ll end up with an ingrown hair. It can also ultimately help reduce the appearance of cellulite. You should be able to find a body brush at your local Walmart or Target. But it’s also easy to buy online.

1. Cutting Back on Sugar is One of the Most Effective Beauty Hacks
As painful as it is, you should probably cut back on sugar. The daily recommended healthy dose of sugar is just 26 grams per day, but most people exceed that amount in their morning coffee. There is also hidden sugar in almost everything, especially processed foods. If you were to simply cut back your sugar intake to 26 grams a day, you would lose weight and dramatically reduce the likelihood of developing disease. Want to know more about sugar? I highly recommend the documentary called Fed Up.
