January 1, 2021 marks the day when Dream Home Makeover Season 2 premieres on Netflix. In case you haven’t seen Season 1, Dream Home Makeover follows an interior designer Shea McGee, the founder of Studio McGee. Together with her husband Syd, they transform houses into a dream home.
This season, we see more of Syd and Shea’s home life with their daughters, as well as their beautiful home designs. With a total of 6 episodes, there is enough content to help you binge some amazing-looking homes on New Year’s Day. Just like Season One, we still see a lot of houses decorated in whites and neutral colors. However, Shea seems to get the hint, because she at least includes some color into her designs. The show also features what it was like to try to do renovations during the Covid-19 pandemic. While it was a struggle, she still managed to get a lot done despite the new restrictions placed upon her.

What’s even more exciting than the premiere of Season 2 is the fact that they are already gearing up for Season 3! Check out the application page here. Keep in mind that they film in the Salt Lake City area. So unless you live close by, it’s not likely that you’ll be chosen for the show. However, for those of you in Utah, you better try! It would be so much fun to have Shea do a home makeover.
