Magnolia Network Anncounces “Homegrown”, a Show All About Urban Backyard Farming

Magnolia Network has recently announced a new show called Homegrown. This series is all about backyard urban farming. Considering just how many people have begun growing fruits and vegetables in their backyards since lockdown began, it’s perfect timing. For anyone who started a backyard garden, this one is for you.

Homegrown Highlights The Life of an Urban Farmer

The series follows Jamila Norman, who is owner of Patchwork City Farms in Atlanta, Georgia. Even though her property is only 1.2 acres of land, she manages to produce fruits, vegetables, and herbs that she sells at her local farmer’s market. She has the dream life for an urban farmer.

Jamila’s mother grew up on her family farm in Jamaica. While growing up in the US, Jamila was inspired by the stories her mother told her. All her life, she dreamed of owning her own farm someday. While urban Atlanta might not be the place you imagine having a farm, Jamila didn’t let that stop her from achieving her dream. She used the land she had, and made the most of it.

In the trailer, we can see that Jamila helps other people create their own little farms in their backyards. A show like this can be incredibly helpful for viewers who are trying to do the same. Many people are hoping to grow their own fruits and vegetables in their backyard to cut down on the number of times they visit their local grocery store. While it’s very difficult to be completely self-contained was a backyard farm, it can still be incredibly fulfilling and satisfying to make your own food.

What To Expect From The Magnolia Network

In 2019, Chip and Joanna Gaines announced that they were leaving their position as hosts of the HGTV program fixer-upper. Instead of posting on another network, they decided to start their very own. Magnolia network was originally scheduled to begin in October of 2020. However, with recent events being as they are, it was postponed until 2021.

With the time in between waiting for the launch of the new Magnolia Network, they have kept themselves busy by improving their property called the Magnolia Silos. They’ve also been adding content to their show lineup, and continuing to produce new products for the collaboration with Target called Hearth and Hand.
