Saying 2020 has been a stressful year would be a massive understatement. Many people are having to work from home for the first time in their lives. Balancing work, relationships, and parenting is incredibly difficult, especially when it all happens under the same roof. Personally, I’ve been working home for years, but this has still be a difficult transition to have the rest of the family back at home, too. After hearing that meditation was helpful for so long, I finally decided to give into the woo-woo science. Let me tell you…It works. I was someone who resisted meditation for so many years. Now, I feel like it’s something that guarantees to bring me back to my center.
Meditation has been around for a very, very long time as part of eastern tradition. It became more popular in the United States during the hippie era. Back in the 1970’s, my mom’s company was ahead of the game in terms of employee self-care. They gave their employees free access to meditation sessions in a small office during her lunch break. Listening to these helped keep her calm in a stressful office environment. Flash forward to the 90’s, and people were able to buy cassettes and CD’s with these meditations to listen at home. But with the wonders of the Internet, we can get amazing meditations for free without ever leaving the house.
There are a lot of meditation apps out there, if you prefer to do that. However, some of them start out as free, and eventually ask you to pay to continue. That’s why I’ve found my meditations through YouTube. You can listen on your phone, Smart TV, or computer. However, I highly recommend doing this with headphones on, preferably when you first wake up in the morning, or late at night. In the beginning, you need to see what works best with your schedule. Once you start meditating regularly, I promise it will change your life.
After hearing rave reviews about this meditation from people who claimed that it brought money into their life, I was more than curious. It’s only 15 minutes long, and actually feels much shorter. In each day of this meditation, Dr. Deepak Chopra teaches you a different lesson about having an abundance mindset. Then, he’ll give you a period of time where you simply hear soothing music. You’re asked to focus on the manta. Weirdly enough, I found myself losing all sense of time. Fifteen minutes felt more like five. Just like other people have claimed, I started experiencing synchronicities with money.
In that 21 day period, I received a total of $1,500 out of the blue from three different sources. On top of that, one of my editors reached out to see if I wanted to join a new project which would pay an additional $500 a week. Two of my brothers lost their job during the pandemic, so I asked them to try this. One of them began receiving multiple job offers from recruiters on LinkedIn that pay more than his previous employer. The other hasn’t had any money fall into his lap, but he felt more motivated to begin his online classes so that he can move onto a completely new career path. Was this all a coincidence? Or did the meditation help all of us tap into some super secret magic of the universe? Honestly, I don’t know. But it’s totally worth trying.
This next manifestation comes from a YouTuber called “The Gem Goddess”. I love her videos, because she has such a bubbly, loving, upbeat energy. She credits everything she has- from her beauty, success, fame, and home in California all to the power of manifestation. Personally, I see this manifestation meditation almost as like a hypnosis session. She recommends listening to this every day for a month if you want to manifest your dreams. Her advice reminds me a lot of the same advice you’ll get from books like Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, and The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. Whether you believe in the power of attraction or not, there is something to be said about training your subconscious to be wired for success.
Unlike Deepak Chopra, you don’t get any moments of silence here. She guides you along the way, instructing you how to picture yourself living your dream life right now, and making new decisions based on that new mindset. Anyone who truly does embody this advice in their everyday life is likely to improve. If you scroll through the YouTube comments, you’ll see a lot of people testifying that they completed 30 days of this meditation, and it changed their life.
Ever wake up on the wrong side of the bed? Louise Hay is here to make sure that never happens. This meditation is designed to be listened to just as you’re waking up in the morning, but still lying in bed. Nowadays, everyone has their phone by the side of their bed, so it should be easy to pop in your headphones. By meditating in the early morning, you’re setting the tone for the rest of the day. Any nightmares, tensions, or worries about your life can be calmed down before you even get started. Scrolling through the comments, there are some people who have literally been listening to this every morning for the last 20 years. WOW.
One of the main reasons why people love to listen to meditation is that it helps them relax, and fall asleep. This meditation by Lina Grace is designed specifically to help people get over their insomnia. With over 7 million views, it’s clear that this works very well for a lot of people. Are you the type of person who can’t sleep, because you think too much? Lina gives you some tips on letting go of stress and anxiety from your day, as well as relaxation techniques.
Scrolling through the comments, I found a great testimony: “I’m a 27 year old man. Manly man. Fireman and medic for 10 years. Have had night terrors. Sleep anxiety. Insomnia for many years. Recently have gone through a rough break up and after years of trying to find meditation that can work. I’m saying this with deep emotion and watery eyes. You have helped me so much. I cannot explain the ease of anxiety that has shown throughout my daily life as well. You are the only one to ever help me. Thank you so much.”
When I first heard about past life regression, it freaked me out. I assumed it was something only brainwashed cult members did. However, after seeing Dr. Brian Weiss’ multiple interviews on Oprah Winfrey show, I was convinced that he was the real deal. This guy’s not trying to get you to pay for expensive conferences, or to start a cult. He is a doctor who is trying to tap into the subconscious and beyond to help people heal. In his book Same Soul Many Bodies, he says how he doesn’t really care if reincarnation is real or not. The fact is that past life regression therapy works to help people.
I was curious, and found this regression hypnosis. During this first session listening to Dr. Weiss, I imagined myself as a woman named Sarah living in London during the Victorian era. She was a suffragette, and spent basically her entire life either taking care of her husband and children, or fighting for women’s rights. By the time she was 40, her kids were all grown up. Women had the right to vote. Now, finally, she wanted to achieve her dream of being a novelist. But she died at age 42 from tuberculosis before she could achieve her dreams.
Did I make all of that up? Maybe I have a very active imagination. But in later hypnosis, I learned more about Sarah, and it taught me a lot about myself, and it made my own life purpose make so much sense. Even if this is a fictional character created by my subconscious, rather than a past life, it still works for what it’s meant to.
